IV therapy

Our Naturopathic Doctors use IV Therapy to aggressively administer natural agents both as stand alone cancer treatments as well as integrative treatments. 

The IV Therapy administration allows much blood higher concentrations of natural substances such as Vitamin C and Curcumin to be achieved than what is possible by other routes of administration.

The use of IV therapy can have different effects (pharmacologic effects) than taking the same substances orally for instance, in high IV doses IV Vitamin C produces oxidative end products which are dramatically different than Vitamin C's typical role as an anti-oxidant.

IV therapy be used to:

- Support quality of life during chemotherapy

- Reduce cancer related symptoms including: fatigue, nausea, and lack of appetite

- Improve treatment outcomes

- Slow and in some cases, stop cancer progression

Our main IV Therapies: IV Vitamin C, IV Alpha Lipoic Acid and IV Curcumin

IV Vitamin C has a broad-spectrum of activity against many cancers with evidence in Breast, Pancreatic, Lymphoma, Kidney, Bladder, Prostate and Ovarian cancer amongst others.

We have administered IVC treatments for 10 years without ill-effects and offer it to those as an adjunctive treatment alongside many chemotherapies and also offer it to those that have exhausted standard treatments.

IV Alpha Lipoic Acid is our main metabolic cancer treatment IV Therapy. That is, it can be used to counteract the Warburg effect and deprive cancer cells of their energy. IV Therapy with Lipoic Acid has shown preliminary benefits in Lung, Colon, Ovarian, Gallbladder Cancer with standout effect in Uterine, Pancreatic and Renal Cancer.

Both IV Therapy with Vitamin C and Alpha Lipoic Acid are synergistic with the mechanistic action of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment. 

IV Therapy with Curcumin is the newest treatment on the scene with emerging data in Pancreatic Cancer, as well as Prostate and Colon Cancer. IV Curcumin Therapy can be paired with IV Quercetin as well as IV Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers

We have Edmonton's newest, and most advanced Hyperbaric Chambers. Hyperbaric Oxygen is a powerful synergist with some of our IV Therapy treatments 

Hyperbaric oxygen has been used with good results in the management of soft tissue radionecrosis (radiation-induced tissue death) as well as osteoradionecrosis (bone). Hypoxia is a common feature of the tumor microenvironment and a major cause of clinical radio and chemoresistance.

Hyperbaric Oxygen down regulates HIF-1 and counteracts the Warburg effect inherent to tumor metabolism.

There is preliminary evidence that Hyperbaric oxygen and ketogenic diets have a synergistic effect for cancer treatment and for the same reasons Hyperbaric treatment is also thought to synergize with IV Lipoic Acid. Metabolically supported chemotherapy (administration of chemotherapy regimen following insulin) plus ketogenic diet, hyperthermia and Hyperbaric Oxygen combination also supports the notion of Hyperbaric synergy. 

An enhanced oxidative environment from Hyperbaric Oxygen is thought to enhance the effectiveness of IV Vitamin C as more oxygen is available for hydrogen peroxide production. In fact, one group confirmed this "Pharmacological [Vitamin C] shows an anticancer effect in vitro and exhibits cytotoxicity through an oxidative stress mechanism that is therapeutically exploited by HBOT."

Artemesinin

Artemesinin is a wormwood extract that has a large range of potential in multiple cancer types, and human evidence is displayed in Colon, Breast, Prostate, Melanoma and Lung Cancer.

Mistletoe 

An article was published looking at 1668 patients treated with Mistletoe showed an average 40% increase in survival rates.

Mistletoe is extremely cost effective and although it is an injectable product we teach patients and their family members to self-administer it at home.

It is usually given three times per week however, that may lessen depending on individual responses.

IV vitamin C and Mistletoe are complimentary non-competing therapies and we can administer the Mistletoe intravenously at on days of IV Vitamin C infusions.
